Tonto Dikeh needs to learn how to sing – OJB Jezreel

Babatunde Jezreel Okungbowa popularly known as “OJB” thinks that Tonto Dikeh still has a long way to go when it comes to music…he says she really needs to learn how to sing…ouch!

In an interview with Tribune, OJB Jezreel when asked his opinion of Tonto Dikeh’s music said “The problem is that she wasn’t listening to the key thing. People did not download the song out of love but out of surprise. If she really wants to go into music professionally, she needs to take out her time and learn how to sing.

It’s a lot easier to cross into acting from singing but a lot harder to cross into singing from acting. If after her first single, she got better people to coach and produce her songs, she might not have complained so much but there was no improvement.


As far as I’m concerned, Tonto Dike’s delving into the music industry is a bad idea right now. Her wanting to sing is not bad but her thinking that on the platform of the fact that she is a movie star, so she can sing, is a very bad idea.”

He really should listen to the “Hi” remix and see how well she has improved…

Living legend basketball player Michael Jordan weds Yvette Prieto last week Saturday at the Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach, Florida in a jaw-dropping 40,000 square foot tent.

According to local realtors Jeff and Cary Lichtenstein, the couple’s venue is the “largest tent in wedding history,” and is actually 5,000 square feet larger than their home.

‘I stay younger by dating younger’ - Gabrielle Union tells People mag

40 year old actress Gabrielle Union was featured in People Magazine 100 Most Women in the World issue and when asked how stays and looks young, she replied:

"I started drinking a gallon of water a day in my mid-thirties. It changed everything from weight maintenance, to hair, skin, nails and digestion. Plus, I stay younger by dating younger. Dip into the kiddie pool, ladies! It worked for me!

Gabrielle is dating NBA star, Dwayne Wade, who is 9 years her junior. Thanks Gabby for the advise, you try...but I like my men older...or at least my age mate..:-)

It's not like I feel there's anything wrong with dating younger men, it's just a personal choice. For me, once I found out a guy is younger than I am, I find a way to make him lose my number. lol. No way! That's how I feel now sha...at 32...who knows how I will feel when I'm 40? Hehe!

Glo unveils Onyeka Onwenu, M.I as X Factor Judges, Toolz as host

Glo yesterday unveiled the host and judges for X-factor Africa. Toolz as host, M.I, Onyeka Onwenu and Ghanaian rapper Reggie Rockstone as judges. Two rappers and a singer. Who likes the combination? Love that Onyeka Onwenu and M.I are there but another singer would have been more appropriate...or what do you guys think? 

Meanwhile a 68 year old grandma, Mrs Evelyn D. Lawson, from Bogeme in Rivers State, auditioned yesterday. See her photo after the cut...

Mrs Lawson came to the stage as the third contestant. The elderly woman who was supported by her two sons  wonderfully sang the ‘Glory be to God’ song and got three “yeses” to go through to the next round. The judges and the audience were impressed with her performance and her courage to still sing at the age of 68.

I have Been trending for the past two days now. Day one was about people wishing me well and praying for me on my birthday. Day two is now filled with gossip, scandals and all sorts, but that is as far as the so called journalists and bloggers are concerned. As far as I am concerned I had a blast on my birthday and I will not allow other human beings steal my joy regardless.

I choose to enjoy my life because I know I deserve it. Nobody went through my own trying times with me and I did not go through any with others.

When God decides to bless me, turn my mourning to dancing, turn my tears to laughter and turn my anger to happiness, no man on earth can change it or spoil it.

Truth is, I laughed when I saw some of the blogs and websites quoting and saying things they know absolutely nothing about. Writing things they have heard without concrete evidence, ghosts that cannot show their faces and ask direct questions. But they believe and think that they can wake up one day and decide people's fate and destiny. Unfortunately they are made to feel important because people hate to read  positive things and achievements, but give them juicy gossip and all of a sudden you become the most popular writer who has gist on everybody.

I realized that when I write blogs and articles about important information, encouragement, education and positive things, only twenty percent out of a hundred actually read it and leave comments. The other eighty percent jump at the gossip and scandals and then start to ask me stupid questions. These are people who have not communicated with me in ages but all of a sudden they feel the need to profess undying friendship and a listening ear. The fact that they believe I have the time or energy to respond to the most trivial issues baffles me.

Let me repeat myself in case some of these people missed it. "I really do not care what you say or write, the truth is who God has blessed no man can curse" , and if you believe that trying to turn a wonderful birthday  into a global gossip game will make me feel bad then I am so sorry this Stella is not as stupid as you think"

Lady Mechanic, Sandra Ekperuoh's mechanic workshop re-opened

The power of the media! I love my job! :-) After reporting what happened to Sandra Ekperuoh's workshop (It was sealed by officials of the Waste Water Management and Sewage Board yesterday - read the story HERE), the gates of the workshop was re-opened last night around 10pm upon directive of the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola

One of the governor's aides read about the incident online and called the staff at the workshop to find out the situation of things. On informing his boss, Governor Fashola directed the gates be reopened because those who came to seal them up yesterday acted on their own directives without the Governors knowledge. Great stuff!

Lady Mechanic, Sandra Ekperuoh's mechanic workship in VI sealed

This is an outrage! Over 40 policemen and officials from the Waste Water Management and Sewage Board, an arm of the Ministry of Environment, this morning stormed the mechanic workshop of Nigeria's first woman auto mechanic, Sandra Aguebor-Ekperuoh, and sealed the place. Her auto workshop, where she employs only female mechanics, is situated by 1004 in Victoria Island. 

Sandra, who has been an auto mechanic for the past 27 years, runs an NGO that empowers women called the Lady Mechanic Initiative where she has empowered and graduated over 150 women in Lagos State alone. Sandra has over 150 women mechanics in Abuja and 100 women mechanics in Benin where 50 of the girls are graduating in three weeks time. 40 of them will be employed by Sandra immediately after graduation in her Lagos, Benin, Kaduna and Abuja workshops. Some of the girls who have passed through her are now self employed with their own mechanic workshops and even training other female mechanics. This woman has done so much to empower women in this country and it's so sad to see this happen to her. We should be celebrating this woman, not taking land from her.

She trains these girls for free, still gives them a salary and accommodates them. The land that was sealed today houses the Lady Mechanic Workshop and a hostel for her girls where the girls, some of them orphans, stay rent free.

Their reason for sealing the place? They are saying the land belongs to the Lagos State government. Thing is, Sandra has been on that land for the past 10 years. I've spoken to Sandra myself and she's devastated but staying strong for her girls. See photos of the sealed workshop after the cut...

Photos: Ground Opens In CHICAGO...Swallows Three Cars

A large sinkhole opened up in the middle of the street and swallowed three cars on Chicago’s South Side. According to police, a driver was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The cars, however, weren’t so lucky. Two cars were inside the hole when fire crews arrived. A third car, which was parked, slid into the hole after first responders got to the scene. Authorities say the sinkhole was caused by a water main break. More pictures after the cut.
